You could have the best program in the world but if you cannot execute it, it might be useless.
The only program that works is the one you can actually follow again and again. That’s why with my clients I use a simple 3 step framework to build real and sustainable progress
What do you need for progress?
Progress isn’t complicated. It’s about doing the right thing, over and over, until you reach your goal.
Simple.. yes .. but no easy!
So how do you stick with something long enough to see results? It starts by asking yourself these 3 questions:
1. What are you ready to do?
You’ve recognized that something needs to change and you’re ready to take action.
2. What are you willing to do?
Now that you’re ready to commit, what are you actually willing to change. Will you train 3x a week? Will you give up alcohol? Will you set a consistent bedtime?
Your goals require trade-offs. This step is about identifying what sacrifices you’re willing to make. No what you should do, but what you will do!
3. What are you able to do?
You’ve clarified what you want and what you’re willing to do. Now ask yourself: what’s realistic right now?
Do you have the time, tools and energy to train 4x a week, or would 2x be more sustainable?
Do you need support, guidance or structure?
This is where we make the plan doable. Not ideal or extreme, but something that fits your life.
Once you’ve answered those 3 questions you’ve eliminated all the unrealistic approaches and you’re left with a plan that is
- Honest
- Actionable
- Sustainable
Something that you can actually stick to, and sticking to the plan is the only thing that matters.
Direction matters more than speed
Progress is not about intensity. It’s about consistency.
Keep showing up and adjust when needed!
